Artist's Description
Victoria looks even more stunning against the background of a richly embroidered Hungarian wall hanging.
Her coloring is remarkable - she is a red head with a royal violet blue bib and deep maroon wings with scattered strands of gold in her feathers that give her a transclucent appearance. No wonder they were considered gifts from the Gods in early Egypt!
This particular Eclectus is treated like a godess by her devoted companion, my daughter Krisztina.
NOTE:
From a link sent to me by Australian FAA artist Margaret Saheed, I was able to correct mistakenly thinking Victoria was Australian. From the wonderful information at Eclectus-parrots.com, I could look at the features of the various subspecies and discover that she is a Grand Eclectus from the Indonesian Island of Ambon.
