Description
This Blue and Gold Macaw struck a remarkably painterly pose at his home in Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls, the largest indoor free flying aviary in the world.
As Macaws can be up to 3 feet long, they need plenty of space to fly - as much as 50 feet! These highly intelligent and social beings at Bird Kingdom certainly have the space as well as the company of other buddies who are all totally free to explore their remarkable environment. He is one of over 500 tropical birds representing over 80 species - and they all get to come and go as they please! This remarkable aviary has a tropical atrium with a 40 foot waterfall, 35 foot tall palm trees and a century old Java House, which is an absolutely charming place to have a cool drink and take in all the wonder around you.
I absolutely love this place and all its residents!
(The background is not a result of my creativity - not photoshopped! - but the actual cement back wall of the Macaws' area. That's why I found it so exciting to be able to take this photo even though the quality does not allow it to be enlarged beyond the card size offered here.)
